About Us
Lake Ranch Resort is the only waterfront resort in Holland. We are a small resort with a vintage feel and updated with modern amenities.
Come stay awhile
Built in the 1950s and 60s, Lake Ranch Resort has a retro-resort feel with ground level rooms, covered porches, and spacious lawns. Visitors fall in love with the small resort feel and impeccably maintained grounds. We have many guests who have been coming for 50+ years. The current record-holders are a couple who haven’t missed a summer in 61 years! Lake Ranch is a place to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty of West Michigan.
History
Lake Ranch resort was originally built by Russ of Russ' restaurants. Construction began in the 1950s with the south building, lawn, beach, and docks. In the 1960's the north building was added. The iconic pool with windows was first constructed over 70 years ago! Converted to condominiums in the early 1990's, each unit is now owned by a different family. About 20 of the 35 units are currently available for your vacation stay. About a half mile from Holland State Park, Lake Ranch has long been surrounded by beauty. In recent decades, the area has seen notable developments: hundreds of miles of bike paths, a boardwalk to the pier, fishing piers, the Pumphouse museum and more.
Meet the Managers
Hi, we are Nick and Danielle Dykert, managers at Lake Ranch. We're excited to welcome you and share our favorite things about Lake Ranch and West Michigan. We love this area and believe that there is no better place to be during the summer months than along the lakeshore in Holland. We are available to make your stay comfortable and full of great memories.
Our favorite things to do at Lake Ranch

- Watch the sunrise from Lake Ranch patios or docks
- Relax at Lake Ranch – the pool, the lawn, the docks
- Walk over to Lake Mac beach. Quaint, cute, perfect for kids. Typically warmer than Lake Michigan
- Kayak, stand-up paddleboard, canoe – rent one next door from Macatawa Boat House
- Fish off our docks, along the boardwalk, the fishing dock at the pier, or along the channel
- Walk the boardwalk. The boardwalk goes all the way into Holland State Park along Lake Mac
- Spend some time boat-watching along the channel or walk out to the end of the pier
- Bike – there are hundreds of miles of bike paths in Park Township. Bring your own or rent
- Climb – Across the street from Lake Ranch are the famous steps to Mount Pisgah. Amazing views!
- Hike – Holland state park has beautiful hiking trails.
- Walk to the Pump House Museum and learn about the history of Ottawa Beach
- Eat some carnival style food across the street at Dune Dogz
- Walk to the General Store. Souvenirs, candy, beach gear, food, drinks, ice cream, and more. Give a child (or the child within you) $5 and watch the magic unfold
- Grab a fun meal with live music at Lolo’s, overlooking the boats and the water
- Go to the beach – Get some sun, swim, read a book… you can head to Lake Michigan or Lake Macatawa
- Watch the sunset from Holland State Park. Gorgeous skies (and you can get ice cream too!)
- Explore downtown Holland for great restaurants, cute shops, excellent coffee, and more. Plus don’t forget the Farmers Market every Wed & Fri from 8am-2pm (mid May-September)
